I hope someone can help me out with these problems. I closed it, reopened it, but it litterly took 5 or 10 minutes to open and the same message appeared again. It showed a red cross, meaning it was not up to date, but when I tried to update it said that the "Windows Update service" was not active and that I should try restarting the computer. I restarted my laptop after that and Windows Explorer seems to work again (meaning: it opens, but I'm certain it can just suddenly close as before).Īfter restarting, I tried the Windows Update program again. When I tried going to "my computer" after that, Windows Explorer didn't even start anymore (see "Error1" and "Error2" in the attachments).

The last message in previous topic stated to check for Windows Updates. It was just anoying, but today I experienced the problem several times in a row, that bad that I just can't open an external driver and some folders next to eachother to take a back-up of the most important files. After 1 or 2 seconds, every program restarts (nothing is lost, the files just reappear), except for the Windows Explorer, those windows remain closed. My screen just shows the wallpaper of the desktop. Every now and then, when I'm browsing through Windows Explorer to search for files, suddenly everything closes (programs and Windows taskbar). I recently started having problems with my Windows Explorer. I started in another topic ( ), but was lead this way.
